One of the best known festivals in Spain is San Fermin. It’s always a good option to rent a car and come to Pamplona from July 7. Experience a continuous street party, lots of sangria and wine, music, and a multicultural environment – ever since Ernest Hemingway popularized this celebration in his book “Fiesta”. Perhaps the best known part of the whole party is running with the bulls, conducted over a 2 kilometre street-route at 7am every day for a week. But don’t worry! If it lets you feel more secure, watch from afar!
In the first video you’ll see the joy of the opening, when the party starts in the streets – and doesn’t stop for the whole week.Typical dress of local people is white with a red neckerchief.
And in the second video… a real race with the bulls!! This is as full-on as it gets.
One of the more curious festivities of Spain is “Tomato Festival” or “La Tomatina”, held in Buñol, Valencia, the last Wednesday of August. It can be a good choice to take the car from Valencia or Barcelona in a friendly way and enjoy the experience. The origins of the party seem to be a fight between neighbors 65 years ago. Nowadays they use tomatoes unfit for sale, so it’s not food wasted! Go for it. Take the car, pack your diving mask – and get soaked with tomato!
