Car rental industry

In July 2011,  Which? surveyed 2,618 members of the public about their car hire experiences. Of the 618 who had hired a car in the past two years, 70% thought terms and conditions were too complicated and 69% felt insurance excess was disproportionately high.

Half have felt pressurised into taking out insurance offered by hire companies, and believe car hire companies should provide maps of local garages when collecting a car.

Another 60% wanted a map showing fuel stations with the car, 56% thought refuelling charges were too high, and 50% said they felt pressurised into buying insurance. Read More

People have always thought of autumn as a season of changes and new knowledge. For the team of RentMama, September has started very successfully.

After prevailing in an international competition, we have joined the Ignite100 programme, which means access to consultations from more that 100  leading European experts, entrepreneurs, and gurus in internet technology and marketing. It also means financial investments, which are crucial for development. For the next three months we will continue to work from the United Kingdom – three solid months of work, work, work. 🙂

We’ve made one small addition. An established car rental company will be able to see not only the renter’s name, but also the customer’s surname, as well as to partly hide the renter’s contact details. We’ve made these changes to let car rental companies make their offers to renters more personalised. It’s our hope that this minor change will increase the number of bids from rental companies, and reduce the number of unproductive enquiries from renters.
